California State University at San Bernardino (CSUSB) has received funding to support their CIRM Bridges program for an additional 5 years. This program trains undergraduates and masters students to work with pluripotent stem cells. Students take courses at CSUSB, then come to UCR for 1 week of hands on training in our Stem Cell Core to learn how to work with human embryonic stem cells. CIRM Bridges trainees then do internships in one of the stem cell labs at UCR or Loma Linda University. Many of the Bridges students go on to graduate school or take technical positions in stem cells labs in California.
