Aaron Cipriano, a PhD student with Dr. Huinan Liu in the Bioengineering Graduate Program, recently received an International Scholarship Award from Phi Beta Kappa. These awards are intended to help international students complete their graduate degrees in the United States. Aaron has taken the hand-on course in human embryonic stem cell culture, participated in the winter stem cell seminar series, and published four papers and one book chapter on the research done during his graduate training at UCR. He is working on building biodegradable scaffolds of metal alloys for use in regenerative medicine.
