Nikki Weng Selected as an NSF IGERT Fellow

Jo-Hao (Nikki) Weng was selected as a NSF IGERT Fellow in Video Bioinformatics. She will join a new cohort of IGERT Fellows this fall quarter.

Nikki is a PhD student in the Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology Graduate Program. Her research deals with the mechanism that regulates dynamic blebbing in human embryonic stem cells. Much of her work includes time lapse and real time imaging of living cells. She plans to work with engineering students in the IGERT program to develop better analytical tools for mining information from video data. In addition, this coming year Nikki will be taking the IGERT courses to prepare her for development of new video bioinformatics tools. Nikki works in Dr. Prue Talbot's lab.
