In January, construction began on UCR’s new Stem Cell Core Facility. This facility is made available through a grant funded by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
The Core will be a 2000 square foot laboratory dedicated to research involving stem cells. The facility will feature culture rooms for growing cells and state-of-the-art analytical equipment for evaluating experiments. An important aspect of the Core will be training of students, postdocs and technicians who wish to learn stem cell biology and the procedures for culturing cells.
A course is currently being planned and will be offered this coming year. The Stem Cell Core Facility is expected to open this spring quarter, so please watch our website for further announcements on the grand opening.
