Athersys Inc, a stem cell biotech company in Cleveland Ohio, has generously provided our Stem Cell Center with a grant that will support travel for one UCR student to the ISSCR (International Society for Stem Cell Research) meetings this June 11-14 in Philadelphia. The student who receives this award will be given funds for travel expenses, living expenses, and registration from the Athersys Grant.

              Any undergraduate or graduate student working with stem cells or planning on working with stem cells may apply for this Award. Applications will consist of a copy of the abstract submitted to the ISSCR meetings or a paragraph about the student’s stem cell project (if no abstract was submitted). Preference will be given to students who submit an abstract and who will present their work at the meetings.
