This winter the Stem Cell Center initiated a new seminar series featuring stem cell researchers from other campuses. There are seven outside speakers visiting UCR this winter. The speaker for our inaugural seminar was Dr. Leslie Weiner from USC who presented his work on “Stem Cells and Multiple Sclerosis”. There will be a total of 7 seminars this quarter. Some speakers will be delivering both a formal research seminar and an informal chalk talk. Plans are in progress for an additional 5-6 speakers this spring quarter. The seminars are being organized by a committing consisting of Drs. Monica Carson (chair), Laura Zanello, and Noboru Sato. Everyone is welcome to attend!
